I am now to fontforge. my problem: I can create my own font using fontforge. however: some of the characters are missing when I try to use the font from within microsoft word, e.g. I created my own shapes for characters unicode 0167 (§) and for unicode 0168 (..). However, when I try to use the font by adding these characters in a winword file (by holding ALT and typing 0167 or 0168 resp.) only the first character is whowing correctly, but the second is not. Instead of showing the character that I designed, it still shows the original one (..) What am I doing wrong? I tried other unicodes, some work, some don't.
Thanks for your help!
I have attached a file that shows my problem.
Please attach the sfd too

Support Requests: #24
Hi Dave,
I uploaded the sfd to my request a while ago, but haven't heard back from you guys. Does this mean that there is no solution to my problem? In that case, I may have to switch to another tool. It would be a pity, though, since fontforge seems to have all the capabilities I need for my project.
Please let me know if you think my problem could actually be resolved. In that case, I will be more than happy to wait for your feedback.
Thanks in advance!
Ruediger

Support Requests: #24
I added the .sfd file.
Hi,
I would like to explain what I am trying to do in more detail. I hope this helps with getting my request resolved:
I create a number of characters as bitmap files using VB.net. Since fontforge seems to not be able to directly read the .bmp files that VB.net created, I loead these files in to Paint and save them as .png files. Fontforge can import .png files. So I import these images into fontforge separately for each letter and then use the function "Element - Abpausen". I have the German version so I don't know what this function is called in the English version. "Abpausen" basically means vecotrizing the bitmap. In the sfd file I uploaded, I put only a few examples, not the complete set of characgters I want to create. I then create the .ttf file and copy this into Windows\fonts. I can then use the font in Winword, but as I described, not all characters actually use the characters I created.
Maybe there is a better way of creating the font than what I described?
Any kind of support is highly appreciated!
Many greetings from Germany
Ruediger
