I keep receiving the following error when attempting to analyze a copybook file:

[line=6, Column=2] expecting: number88, number not88

I have attached the copybook for your review/comment. I assume it is an issue with the copybook. Any assistance with this error would be greatly appreciated.

Just change the Copybook format combo tofree format; see attached picture

The coments at the start of the copybook start in column 1; the rest of the copybook appears to be a normal copybook

I am able to open/review the copybook but the associated data is producing garbage. Can you recommend any default settings?

When I view the associated file in a Hex Editor (EBCDIC View) I can clearly see data (see attached file).

There is 9 bytes (hex zero's) before the data defined in the copybook starts.

Can you tell me about the file, why there is the hex zero's at the start.

I will send you my e-mail address

Bruce, sorry for any confusion. The 9 bytes were coming from a previous record. I was providing you with an example. I am send you, via your e-mail address, a copy of the data.

    Hopefully it isworking now:

    • I will look at the Cobol Import to see if I can do a better job of working out the "RecordDecider" field.
    • Longer Term I will look at adding the RecordLength to the Record Layout definition. This requires DB changes, I will do this later in the year (hopefully).

Tbe data still looks out alignment with the copybook.

Can you Export and Xml version of the copybook and send it to me (+ file)

    • Select Record Layout >>> Edit Layout
    • Select the Record Description
    • There is a button Save as Xml near the top of the screen second from the Right

Did you import the Xml Schema I sent you ???

    • Record Layout >>>Load Xml Copybook
