To be quite honest I wouldn't recommend this to anyone getting into the design industry I would actually recommend sumopaint.com or raven which is a vector editor made by the aviary community. However this is a great start for Ajax, but needs a lot of work such as layers, layer modes, menubar for the filters to be displayed, etc: etc: I'm not a big fan of how it's put together, and think it needs a lot of work, but it is a good start.

I only came on here because I would like to say that this is the only free client side image creator. and even the ones that aren't good. Does any one know of any client side image mannipulation scripts that mimic the preloader/icon/text/stripe/ ajax generators online. julian sould make a smaller AIE for other types of applications. because he knows what he is doing and there is nothing really on the web.
