ddosperl

DDOS Perl is a denial of service attack handling script in Perl, like DDOS Deflate but with key differences. Can run at sub 1 minute intervals Banned IPs can be blocked for an increasing time Allowed IPs aren't stored in the same file as banned IPs

Features

Simple Perl script to identify DOS attacks
Offending IPs are automatically banned
Banning using either APF or IPTables
Bans can escalate for longer periods of time based on a schedule
Receive E-mail notifications of banned IPs
Rotating log file created of activity
Various levels of debugging to see what's going on
Run in testmode to see what it would do
After a ban is removed, a reoffending IP will go back to the previous ban level
Keeps a history of banned IPs in case of reboot + resumes fine
