As far as I know, the only great equalizer that works universally in Windows, for all audio. Amazingly powerful!

Happy I found this app. After reading the Configuration reference page I could manage to set the equalizer up in order to compensate some minor flaws my Class D bluetooth audio amplifier had. I needed to run the installer for EqualizerAPO to work properly. Just decompressing the installer and running the configurator or the editor apps didn't work.

Clean and straightforward, works like a charm.

Awesome piece of code! Great quality and so easy to use. If possible you could make it to have support for ASIO4ALL. I'm pretty sure everyone would appreciate it.

Great software! On my equipment (i.e. the AQVOX card, i.e. Digidesing mBox and JBL BT500 bluetooth headphones) it works brilliantly! Finally, I could cut out all the sound controls, and raise my favorite treble a bit :) Only one problem: it only works on config.txt and I can't set other settings to recall them at any time ...

Made an account just to rate this. I had searched some years back for a software EQ for windows and couldn't find anything to fit my need.. I ended up giving up for the time being. Now I recently borrowed a computer with a very old sound card that didn't have any EQ software available and I looked for available software and came across this gem. The ability to apply EQ , filters, and gain very easily over any output is incredible. The stock tools included are great and I was extremely impressed to be able to apply VST plugins. This has become must-have software for me overnight and the fact that it's free is amazing. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to polish their audio a little bit or even just needs a gain boost. The interface may be geared towards engineers/audiophiles, but this software is incredibly versatile and responsive. It's not that complicated to use.

Simple adjustments result in more use of bass capability or clearer audio

I was looking for a free graphic equalizer. I've been more familiar with graphic equalizers than parametric equalizers. If I operate this software in real time while listening to dance music, the scenes and emotions obtained from the sound will change to a wonderful feeling. I feel quite comfortable when I emphasize the high range. It's like playing with a graphic equalizer for so-called DJ play. The good thing about graphic equalizers is that it is possible to emphasize only one point.

This looks like super powerful software, just don't expect to install it, hit a few buttons, and have your sound output equalized. This, and the recommended Room EQ Wizard which is used with it, are complex programs and require quite a bit of time to understand and use correctly. I gave up after an hour. One would think that there could be a simple "wizard" mode where the software ramps the frequency sent to the speakers, reads the sound levels from the microphone, and generates the necessary magic eq configuration files automatically and done. Of course the mic should be calibrated, etc., but this would get someone going with this tool, and would be all many would need. The star rating is definitely user experience dependent: 1 star if the user needs something quick and easy, 5 stars for someone wanting precision and willing to spend time learning to use these tools.

Absolutely fantastic piece of software. I have pretty severe high-frequency hearing loss, partly genetic and then injury in one ear makes it worse on that side. The amount of freedom of customization that Equalizer APO offers is just incredible. I could see it being a little tricky to get the hang of for a complete beginner but its documentation is helpful, and the layout of the UI and its features is deceptively simple and easy to get a hang of. Just playing around on my own for about a half hour it was pretty intuitive to figure out how to tell it to raise the volume and specifically higher frequencies in the left channel, and just the higher frequencies to a lesser extent and without the overall volume adjustment in the right. Very cool! I've also seen the devs helping people out on reddit, the thread I found while looking for an equalizer specifically to help with my hearing issues was someone asking for a similar equalizer preset to what I've created, and one of the devs responded in the thread, asking to see their audiogram, and helping them set up an equalizer preset that would best compensate for their hearing loss. Just all-around great, thanks so much for this tool.

Works well and is intuitive and stable. Using 64 bit Windows 10 with Topping D50s USB DAC. Primarily Streaming hi-res audio via Amazon Music HD and Tidal Hi-Fi. I am an audiophile with ELAC bookshelves being powered by Denon AVR for a desktop system. I wanted a simple way to boost the bass in the digital domain and this works well. Highly recommended.

It works very poorly as it wont let me hear things and when it does its screeching. I uninstalled it but the equalizer still haunts me as it has crippled my microphone and has left it in a poor state.

Absolutely in it´s own leauge! Takes listening to another level with all options to fine tune audio. Gives your system that little extra to lift up the smallest detail in tones. Highly recommended with it´s easy install and config.

Im Actually VERY Pleased With This Download. My Neewer NW 8000 USB microphone, Was So Very Quiet. You could barely hear me. When I would Turn Up the Gain/Volume on the System, It would Make it sound Horrible, As Well as Cause Distortion and Glitching. But Since Ive Downloaded the Equilizer, I no longer have that problem!!! It Sounds Just as Good as it would, If it was Connected to a Seperate Driver With the Phantom Power. This is So Much Better and I WIsh I would have Known about this sooner!

Using Equalizer APO w/ a VST Limiter solves my problem.

Easy to configure all the channels of a PC audio interface for any sound source, even for a hardware interface that has old drivers with a useless configuration panel.

Excellent software enabling system-wide audio DSP on Windows for purposes like room compensation. The interface is arcane but effective. Best used in combination with Room EQ Wizard with the note that REW does require a Java runtime to be installed; EQ APO itself does *not* require Java. Reviewers complaining of "slimware" in the installer are straight-up lying (virustotal etc. find the last few builds to be clean). The installer contains only the required parts and everything is entirely GPL compliant from what I can see.

I like APO but when i downloaded it along with it came slimware basically a trogan program that installed and took me hours to get rid of . If you are gonna add additional software with this stuff you should at least give us the option to decline ! If you guys need money this bad then I do not trust you site .

Amazing software, it helped me fix annoying resonnances from my desktop speakers. Connection to a Topping E30 DAC via USB works a treat. However, I couldn't get any equalization if processing via my mainboard Realtek's Toslink output.
