I've used HSQLDB for 7 years - it's the greatest, and I was excited to use the new sqltool in 2.4.0, especially the .dsv export and import facility. (I've written my own functions to accomplish this in OO Basic). Unfortunately, I found that single quotes,carriage return and linefeed characters are not escaped. I have many records of multi-line text fields which use CRLF and single and double quote characters. If you use the .dsv export with these embedded characters, you can not subsequently import the file. One alternative is SqlTool, which you have used. The other alternative is the IMPORT and EXPORT commands introduced in version 2.7.0, as well as existing TEXT table support. Quote characters are escaped and the carriage return and linefeed are written and read correctly when you simply import a DSV into any table. -
Great small SQL engine that I've been using for in house tools. Small foot print, to make the java executable manageable.
