HTTP-DTN is a proposed extension to HTTP 1.1, which builds on the hypertext transfer protocol for store-and-forward communication between nodes over different transport protocols, to enable support for disconnected and disrupted networks. HTTP-DTN is at a proof-of-concept stage, with an internet-draft, papers and example code.
