Have you tried this Java barcode reader? http://www.onbarcode.com/products/java_barcode_reader/ Frankly speaking, it's the most efficient java barcode recognition tool I've used. And this it is able to read Linear & 2D barcodes from multiple image files. Besides, you can embed barcode recognition features in your Java applications. So, worth to try!
