KQ is older X game, and plays like it, but great for it's initial date - a JRPG with sound. I had to download an EARLIER VERSION to find Misc.pcx new developers "left out" for level editor. I was able to compile and run 0.99 the latest posted version. i first had to pre-build allegro-4.4.3.1 and lua-5.0 and dumb-0.9.2 , while libglade-2.6.4 i did also (perhaps optional - one of the editors uses but not main one). the libs should probaby be included as optional (as to system libs) since they are small and "the wrong versions" won't compile it obviously and won't be on newer ubuntu rh slack. i looked for "modern java rpg" and itch.io (web rpg) funnygames.org (web rpg) none of them are as developed as KQ. all over hype underdeveloped and some broken and or asking for money.

This is a surprisingly good game, well balanced and with good play value. It has some minor rough edges, but it really deserves to get finished. Lots of very good work has gone into it. Play it now!

I can't say it's well known but Its a great RPG.
