IBM AIX ships with version 3.05 of the Redhat package manager (RPM) for open source software. Unfortunately this outdated version does not provide dependency resolution and IBM hasn't ported YUM.
Rpmplus is a simple shell wrapper script which does dependency resolution by querying each package dependency list and builds a single argument list for the rpm command.
