An excellent editor that I have been using for years. Works great on windows and linux. It is very easy to transfer user configuration between systems. I tested various editors, but I always came back to SciTE.

An excellent editor. Lean, fast and independent of third-party libraries/frameworks.

Small and fast, an excellent text editor for programmers. Has syntax highlighting for many languages. All user configuration is stored in a single text file SciTEUser.properties, making upgrades to new versions completely painless. On Windows it works great with TDM-GCC and mingw32-make. Output window for compiler messages serves a double role as a mini-terminal. Highly recommended for those who have grown tired of huge bloated IDE's.
