Nice, but I had to edit line 1328 from LangExist = runBash("ls /usr/share/tesseract-ocr/tessdata/" \ to LangExist = runBash("ls /usr/share/tessdata/" \ for it to work correctly on my Mandriva system.

Not to bad only the naming of the project is not so well chosen. In case you DO look for a GUI front-end for tesseract-ocr see http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimagereader/
