If you are using the Windows taskbar on the left or right side of the desktop, a lot of space is wasted for the date and action center.
This program hacks child windows where the action center bar is, showing the date and time there, so you can disable the default windows time displaying on the taskbar.
This program can optionally also display of current available memory on top of the taskbar and flash the taskbar in red if memory gets low.
Usage: Start the desired executable. There is one version for a black text, and
one for a white text. But you can also specify a custom color.
Drawbacks: You cannot open the windows calendar by clicking on the time or date controls
Features
- Transparent background. This is a bit tricky, so it might occasionally flicker. If you specify a background color (command line parameter) alternate drawing and updating operations can be used, which will trastically improve this issue
- Left click on the time control to toggle seconds on/off.
- Right click allows you to quit. The confirmation dialog runs in a separate thread, so time is still updated. Please note the confirmation dialog often opens in the background :(
- When you try to start a second instance, this will trigger the already running instance to show the quit confirmation message. Please note the confirmation dialog often opens in the background :(
- An icon is also included, even if this bloats the file size about 400%.
- Automatically reloads when the taskbr (explorer) restarts.
- Optionally shows / flashes infos of available memory
