WinTar is a C# based program to handle TAR and MTF (Microsoft Tape Format) formats. The GNU tar for Windows does not handle tape devices and does not handle the MTF format.

Does not really work with tapes. I got always this: WinTar.TarTapeException: CreateTapePartition [87] Trying "tapecopy", downloaded from www tecno-notas.com winnt htm works. This is really a pitty, because it would be much easier just to use Wintar without additional commands like mt or tapecopy or even with other commercial tape drive software.
