Pros: N/A.

Cons: This company is dishonest and planned to be all along. Again, they sold me a lifetime account for 6 terabytes of cold storage for data I didn't need on a daily basis. I though it would be safe until I needed it. But no, they deleted my account with no notice and basically laughed at me for believing they were telling me the truth about a "lifetime" account.

Overall: Don't trust your important data to these thieves. You will be sorry.

Pros: nothing good about how the product works can outweigh the fact that they held my files hostage until I converted the lifetime plan I purchased into a subscription.

Cons: I bought the lifetime plan and could not restore files. Tech support said I needed higher level tech support to fix the problem and would need a subscription for that. I purchased a lifetime plan. I was forced to upgrade to a subscription plan in order to restore files I had backed up. holding my files hostage to get me onto a subscription plan. a company that does that is not one I would recommend to anyone. This was before this March when they announced they were no longer honoring the lifetime plans they sold.

Overall: Would not recommend due to unethical business practice of holding your files hostage. when multiple attempts to restore failed, even working with tech support, I was forced into a subscription plan then poof, my restores immediately started working!

Pros: Polarbackup had an initial lifetime subscription offer. They were providing 5TB of cold cloud storage for a onetime fee but decided this year to start charging a monthly fee.

Cons: Polarbackup is not a trustworthy company. They did not honor their own offer. It really is like a bait and switch. You should not trust or use their services.

Overall: I purchased a lifetime subscription with Polarbackup, expecting 5TB of cloud storage. However, the company introduced a monthly fee to maintain my account, violating the original agreement. Faced with this bait-and-switch tactic, I deleted my data and account. I strongly advise against doing business with this company.

Cons: LIARS LIARS LIARS.

I bought a lifetime plan and now they are cancelling the lifetime plan and deleting all of my data unless I pay them a monthly fee.

Overall: Monthly fees are not lifetime plans.

LIARS THIEVES.

Pros: I wasn't too worried about the slow speeds given this is held out as a cold storage solution -- I valued it as lifetime storage option for precious photos, etc -- their sales hook was "Pay Once, Store Forever" -- it allowed me not to worry about hard drives crashing, etc.

Cons: Unfortunately, this appears to be a bait-and-switch operation. They pulled the rug out from anyone that purchased a lifetime plan and are deleting stored data in 14 days unless the lifetime member signs up for an expensive monthly subscription (even though said member already paid a reasonable sum for a "lifetime" plan).

Overall: Disappointing. I have written to them requesting a refund for my "lifetime" plan, but I'm not holding my breath.

Pros: NO PROS - ABYSMAL EXPERIENCE!

Cons: BEWARE - DO NOT PURCHASE ANY STORAGE PLANS FROM THIS COMPANY FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS:
* The "plan" is per device; if your device breaks &/or is no longer functional you will need to pay extra $$$ to add a 2nd device onto the plan & then you will need to delete or archive the previous device as stated by Lisa Mason: "You should also add a second device with this plan, but in the future, you will need to archive or delete the previous one."
* READ the "terms & conditions thoroughly", as Lisa states: "Please know that these are all stated under our terms and conditions."
* While I was able to install Polarbackup onto my computer, I was NEVER able to download any photos into storage & the Polar Backup representatives NEVER provided any assistance to rectify this issue.
* $200 paid on a "LIFETIME PLAN" that obviously is not "lifetime" as all computers break sooner or later; misrepresented information by the company.
(Anna G Polar rep) stated the following: "Please know that the lifetime plan is for the original device and we understand things happen to computers where you have the option to add new machines from deleting the old one as well as archiving. Some options may not work due to the basic support plan under your account being expired, you can upgrade the support plan which will also add the number of users under the account and the ability to add more machines to be backed up."
* Polar Backup refund policy must be claimed within 30 days of purchase; CLAIM THE REFUND as this company is abysmal. As stated by Anna; "please know that our refund policy is 30 days of making the purchase.
* IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED ANY STORAGE PLANS FROM THIS COMPANY GET A REFUND ASAP & TAKE YOUR MONEY TO A REPUTABLE COMPANY!

Overall: WASTED $200 ON CRAP!

Cons: EVERYTHING LOST AFTER PAYING FOR A LIFETIME DEAL!!

I purchased a life time Storage solution and had all my family memories there. I went to log in and couldn't get access. I contacted customer service (Lisa Mason) who told me everything was deleted as I hadn't logged in for quite some time. The customer service person didn't seem to care at all that everything of mine was gone. All she wanted to hide behind was "it is stated in our terms and conditions" They got my money and failed to honour their end of the deal. Lifetime storage is LIFETIME, it shouldn't matter if I never log in again. If I missed a monthly payment or anything else I would understand this outcome.

Overall: I am so disappointed in the experience and the loss of all my memories. They should really try having some compassion, if someone decided to just delete all their memories I bet they would have an issue as well.

Pros: Efficient backup system.
Silent, minimal impact on production and bandwidth.
Cold backup is convenient for longterm storage at minimal cost and lower ecological impact.

Cons: Delay for data recovery is longer due to cold backup.
No updates for several years, wondering if there will be one day.

Overall: Good user experience with minimal impact on production.
Easy administration.
Competitive pricing.
Wonders on the evolution of the product.
