Hi Mounir, not sure if this is planned in the near future, but I was able to successfully build and test Veracrypt with argon2 support on Linux. I was using Arch with kernel 6.19, and only tested encrypted containers.

Maybe I should ask here, I tried building the latest Veracrypt from source (git clone) on Linux but still wasn't seeing argon2 options in the GUI. From a cursory glance it looked like argon2 should have been included in the build. Is it just an issue of the options not showing on the gui? I'm on EndeavourOS with KDE and Wayland and kernel 6.19.10, if that matters. Also if argon2 should be there, I'd be more than happy to help test/fix the issue.

Would you be OK if I posted this to socials, such as Microsoft's reddit or twitter accounts? Might get some traction.

One of the containers is NTFS internally and one is exfat. It's possible the container's NTFS is dirty (needs a scan done). Windows is more lenient mounting dirty volumes VS Linux. I would open the volume in Windows and do a scan/repair from there. You can do so in Veracrypt's main window. Right click the mounted volume > check filesystem.

I recently made the full time switch to Linux (EndeavourOS), but have been using it on the side for many years. My main VC containers had been on a NTFS hard drive, and the containers themselves were formatted NTFS. I reformatted the drive as ext4, copied the containers back over, and then re-created them as exFAT. Though Linux can natively read/write NTFS these days, I know VC was using fuseblk instead of the kernel NTFS driver. Is there a way to get VC to use the kernel driver? exFAT works ok for...

I'm just curious if the Linux build will be receiving the argon2 support soon? Windows has been my primary OS for years but I'm in the process of moving to Linux so just curious on timeline. Thanks!

I just noticed a minor error in this page; https://veracrypt.io/en/Random%20Number%20Generator.html Pool Mixing Function step 3, l should be 32 for BLAKE2S-256.
