I was poking around for an hour trying to understand exactly what it is you're doing but I for the life of me could not with confidence identify the registry keys I am to delete. I monitored editor.exe and found a ton of registry keys it was opening and querying and stuff but yea I'm just a bit lost trying to work through your steps.

After a few months from my reset, the same issue has arisen yet again... -_- It may have had something to do with the windows update, although I'm unsure.

Update: I ended up resetting windows -_- It's fixed for now.

those options are greyed out and I'm unsure why.

It's strange, I literally opened up youtube and played a video that is silent, literally no sound at all and that is enough to keep it going so the problem doesn't service, likewise for as long as I'm in a discord call, even if there are periods of silence or they mute their mic, the problem doesn't arise. It is only once the audio is not being engaged (which is different from playing sound) that it needs to be re-enabled through the means listed beforehand.

Is there anything I could do? Any sort of thing to get more info or some things I could try maybe? It's strange because sometimes it'll work fine for a bit then all of a sudden, I'll close one instance of audio or something and it will stop working again. It happens specifically when I'm on discord call, if I'm actively utilizing my audio I think it never resets, it's only when no audio is being engaged with that it resets and I have to tap/untap instant mode or go into the vst and reclick apply,...
