There's already a KeePass.config.xml in the same folder as KeePass.exe, which I guess came with the portable version, and it contains those lines, plus a lot more.

I have a regular install of Keepass. I also downloaded the portable version and when I run it, it's looking for the same database file as my regular install. If it's portable, why is it looking outside of it's own folder, and how can I make it not? How did it know about the DB of my regular install? Why does it give an error saying the file can't be found when it tries to read that DB? It does have the filename and location correct.
If I wanted to put my database file and pw shortcut file in "Program Files (x86)", what would be the correct target path? This does not work: "C:\Program Files (x86)\KeePass Password Safe 2\KeePass.exe" C:\Program Files (x86)\Database.kdbx -pw:password I currently have it working with the files in Windows' Video library/folder but wanted to move it. It works there using: "C:\Program Files (x86)\KeePass Password Safe 2\KeePass.exe" C:\Users\me\Videos\Database.kdbx -pw:password

Thanks a lot. I was hoping to avoid requiring any password or shortcut, but I guess it's not possible.
Is it possible to remove all master key/keyfile/master password functionality from Keepass and just use it as a neat method to store usernames and passwords? Edit: Just realized my post title probably isn't the best, but it won't let me change it.
