"Find duplicate passwords" triggers on "{TIMEOTP}"
For usability of TOTP (or HOTP) I'd like to add another little thing: When using "Tools->OTP Generator Settings...", the tool could replace the actual (random) password with the correct placeholder ({TIMEOTP} or {HMACOTP}). Occasionally I forget that step, wondering why the code isn't accepted ;-)
I'd vote for (1) (trim spaces) for the following reasons: * SPC is not a valid BAS32 character, so it's safe to remove them * Some sites present the secret grouped as groups of 4 or groups of 5 characters for manual copying (maybe from a print-out) * Having to remove the blanks manually is a waste of time; the computer is better and faster at that
The problem is still there, and it's annoying: The title of the popup is "KeePass", and the (rather small) window is hidden behind the explorer window that started KeePass. Furthermore that popup window is not listed in the Windows taskbar, so the user has no clue that a non-visible window is waiting for input. Notably, the dialog to ask for the master password is not hidden (obviously), but the popup (following it) is. I have no idea what causes this, but it's very bad usability. The only way to...
I see the same thing in 2.58 with current Windows 11 (24H2 Build 26100.4652): Using a portable installation on a stick I open the directory on the stick in Explorer, double-click KeePass. After entering the master password I see nothing. Using Alt+Tab I see there is a KeepPass window (the one that asks whether to change the master key in my case) behind the Explorer window. I have to bring that window to foreground every time. Absolutely repeatable. Possibly not KeePass's primary fault, but still...
