    Hacker Scripts

    Hacker Scripts

    Based on a true story

Hacker Scripts is a cheeky collection of small automation scripts and language ports collected under the tagline “Based on a true story.” The repository gathers playful utilities (originally shell and Ruby scripts) that automate short, real-world tasks — for example, sending a quick “late at work” text when SSH sessions are active, firing off an automated “I’m sick / working from home” email on certain mornings, or even talking to a networked coffee machine to start brewing at precisely the right moment. The README explains the origin story and highlights several canonical scripts and provides usage notes such as required environment variables and cron examples for scheduling. Contributors have provided implementations and ports in many languages and folders (shell, Ruby, Python, Node, Perl, PowerShell, Go, Java, etc.), and the project explicitly welcomes pull requests that add additional language implementations.

    pikepdf

    pikepdf

A Python library for reading and writing PDF, powered by QPDF

pikepdf is a Python library allowing the creation, manipulation, and repair of PDFs. It provides a Pythonic wrapper around the C++ PDF content transformation library, QPDF. Python + QPDF = “py” + “qpdf” = “pyqpdf”, which looks like a dyslexia test and is no fun to type. But say “pyqpdf” out loud, and it sounds like “pikepdf”. pikepdf is a library intended for developers who want to create, manipulate, parse, repair, and abuse the PDF format. It supports reading and write PDFs, including creating from scratch. Thanks to QPDF, it supports linearizing PDFs and access to encrypted PDFs.

    Spleeter

    Spleeter

Deezer source separation library including pretrained models

Spleeter is the Deezer source separation library with pretrained models written in Python and using Tensorflow. It makes it easy to train music source separation models (assuming you have a dataset of isolated sources), and provides already trained state of the art models for performing various flavours of separation. 2 stems and 4 stems models have state of the art performances on the musdb dataset. Spleeter is also very fast as it can perform separation of audio files to 4 stems 100x faster than real-time when run on a GPU. We designed Spleeter so you can use it straight from command line as well as directly in your own development pipeline as a Python library. It can be installed with Conda, with pip or be used with Docker.

    SymPy

    SymPy

A computer algebra system written in pure Python

SymPy is an open source Python library for symbolic mathematics. Its goal is to become a full-featured computer algebra system (CAS) while maintaining the simplicity of its code. Written entirely in Python, SymPy is easy to use, comprehensible and easily extensible. It’s also very lightweight as it solely depends on mpmath, a pure Python library for arbitrary floating point arithmetic. SymPy has participated in every Google Summer of Code since 2007 and because of this has continuously improved. A lot more people have also contributed to it, and used it in their projects. Beyond being an interactive tool, it can be embedded in other apps and extended with custom functions.

    AIMET

    AIMET

AIMET is a library that provides advanced quantization and compression

Qualcomm Innovation Center (QuIC) is at the forefront of enabling low-power inference at the edge through its pioneering model-efficiency research. QuIC has a mission to help migrate the ecosystem toward fixed-point inference. With this goal, QuIC presents the AI Model Efficiency Toolkit (AIMET) - a library that provides advanced quantization and compression techniques for trained neural network models. AIMET enables neural networks to run more efficiently on fixed-point AI hardware accelerators. Quantized inference is significantly faster than floating point inference. For example, models that we’ve run on the Qualcomm® Hexagon™ DSP rather than on the Qualcomm® Kryo™ CPU have resulted in a 5x to 15x speedup. Plus, an 8-bit model also has a 4x smaller memory footprint relative to a 32-bit model. However, often when quantizing a machine learning model (e.g., from 32-bit floating point to an 8-bit fixed point value), the model accuracy is sacrificed.

    Pants Build System

    Pants Build System

    The Pants Build System

Pants 2 is a fast, scalable, user-friendly build system for codebases of all sizes. It's currently focused on Python, Go, Java, Scala, Kotlin, Shell, and Docker, with support for other languages and frameworks coming soon. A lot of effort has gone into making Pants easy to adopt, easy to use and easy to extend. We're super excited to bring Pants' distinctive features to Go, Java, Python, Scala, Kotlin, and Shell users. Pants requires very minimal BUILD file metadata/boilerplate. It uses a combination of static analysis and sensible defaults to infer most of that information on the fly. So your BUILD files can be very minimal — and even those can be generated and updated for you. Pants has out-of-the-box support for multiple dependency resolves and their corresponding lockfiles, so you can have hermetic, repeatable builds that are resilient to supply chain attacks, even in complex situations where you have multiple versions of the same dependencies in different parts of the codebase.
