Hi, I started to add support for adding file permissions. The script is /etc/init.d/setfileperm and this one reads the files /etc/sysconfig/permissions.* It's not much included in the permissions yet, but at least we have a base where we can add stuff. cu Heiko |

Hi, I was thinking about securing the additional packages. When somebody got into the system, he is able to install more packages just by unpacking the archives. I thought, we could encrypt the packages with a key, which is generated when the ISO is being created. This key is then stored inside the initrd, which is not accessible. It's not 100% secure, but it gives an intruder one more problem. What do you think about it? And what program should be used to encrypt/decrypt the packages. cu Heiko |

Download the actual 0.5b5 and take a look at the docs directory (files BUILD and DEVELOPER.html ). The documentation is not complete yet, but should help you creating enhancements. The additional advantage is, that we can include your package(s) into the main distribution, so other people can benefit from your work. If you have further questions, just ask. You should also join the Developer Mailinglist, so we can help you much better. cu Heiko |
