  • Great application. I've ben using it for more than a year, I didn't have a sf user, so I didn't rated earlier, I apologize. But it has tons of functions and automations. Also the support is amazing.

Thanks for rating and the review. Good support is everything.
  • Created an account specifically to share that this is the first application I install on any Windows device. The sheer amount of customization is incredible yet intuitive, and I've managed to fine-tune a preset that allows me to hear more detail and avoid 'audio fatigue'. It's simply a breeze to back up and transfer the preset between devices. I've never had an issue tuning this software to my exact preferences, and I've discovered exactly zero bugs in all the years I've used it! Massive THANK YOU for this marvelous GUI.

Thanks for sharing your experience on Peace. And you're welcome of course :)
  • Thank you very much! Wish it were cross-platform though (...sorry)! Gave u a 5 in 'Support' simply because I did not need any support! Now that is the definition of 'support' I like, lol. It is simply a fantastic piece of code...tks again...Derek

Thanks Derek for the nice review. Well, if you need support I'm still here :) Unfortunately, it's difficult to create Peace for other platforms as Equalizer APO is a system-wide audio engine.
  • tried downloading this and at first it wouldn't let me but I read here that it was a false positive so I proceeded anyway. Then I scanned the dl file on virus total and it said it had "Malicious.ef262d" malware?? So I just deleted the file. Please clarify if this is another false positive or if it's something to actually worry about. edit: dude answered my inquiry and eased my worries so I'm giving it 5 stars.

This is a false positive by a virus scanner called Cybereason. There always will be some scanners that think that Peace contains a virus. That's usually due to the AutoIt programming language Peace is developed with. In other words, there isn't a virus when some bad virus scanning software says there is.
  • Great interface and extensive options. Makes configurations a breeze for EQ APO. Great job!

Thanks. Making and switching configurations is the main goal.
  • Updating 64 bit version is a pain in the glutes. Otherwise a fantastic application.

Updating the 64 bit is just downloading it and copying it to c:\program files\equalizerapo\config. Is that difficult?
  • A stupendous GUI for EqAPO. This really does deliver it all. Note in particular that all channels are seperately configuarable. My need is to switch between different profiles (that are also different for L & R channels because of hearing loss) for different outputs: speakers & various sets of headphones - when using AIMP (believe me, the best) as the player. All possible in EqAPO, but oh the relief to be able to do it live with just a click of the mouse. Peace indeed! A VERY minor quibble - as noted in a previous review, the programme (sorry for my correct UK spelling) blanks out for a second or so when settings are changed, leading to worries whether it has crashed or not. It hasn't, but we should not have to worry. PS setup is obvious & intuitive. Have not watched Peter's youtube channel (no idea it existed & not into it on account of advanced age) but clearly did not need to.

Thanks for your in-depth story on your usage of Peace. I'm glad you can make good use of it. The next release will be quicker in loading the selected configuration. mmm "programme" would be nice. Should I make a UK English language file? I rather like English spelling such as equalise instead of equalize.
  • This fixed some issues I had with my microphone. Actually great tool. EqAPO for some reason didn't amp my microphone, and the volume was extremely low, but this tool fixed it. Very simplistic, but does the job, so who cares. Only thing I dislike is that, for configuring appearance, the window closes and then reopens after a couple of seconds, but that's fine.

Thanks for your review. Great to hear it fixed the mic issues. The next release will have a faster refreshing. It was getting slow due to the many features. I've managed to speed it up.
  • What can I say? This is a superb interface for Eq APO. It allows all the features to be seen at a glance. I was able to get it up and running with no problems from the moment I installed it. I had watched all the tutorial videos on Peter's YouTube channel first, and that gave me a headstart for understanding the interface and its functions. The video sequence is divided up into short concise east-to-watch descriptive segments. Excellent. Thank you.

Nice to hear you can make good use of Peace. And thanks for your elaborate review. If you still need support you know where to find me.
  • This tool is incredibly well put and extremely useful. Pever still updates this software even to this day! Please give the creator some credit if you enjoyed this app. This GUI is instinctive. Easy to make modifications and the feedback is instantaneous. There's tons of more info about this GUI on youtube and other websites, if you get stuck or need help. That just goes to show you how popular this product is, and how many people enjoy this software. The fact is, not even moments after downloading I knew what sliders/buttons did what and I immediately started tinkering. This goes to show the brilliance of the design. 5/5 stars for the GUI Edit: I'm just going to overwrite the original review. It didn't belong here. Cheers!

Thanks for rewriting your review. And thanks for rating Peace. I do my best to improve it and help.
  • Thankyou, it always amazes me how talented people like yourselv/es are able to create ingenious pieces of software, or art, music, etc, etc and then offer it for free....if the rest of the world went along with a bit more of an 'open source' way of thinking then the world would surely be all the better for it! Peas and Love! :-)

Thank you for your praise. I just do my very best to get a good piece of software to the people. I guess a part of me is "open source" ;) Anyway, I can only agree with you.

  • Fantastic. Great job. I am amazed that such a great Interface exists. Thank you so much. The customisability is wonderful, allowing many things such as icons to be tweaked to your personal preference easily. For audiophiles this app is intuitive and comprehensive and allows you to really tune your windows based audio setup.

Merci pour la revue - Thank you for the review. Unfortunately I don't know how to create something similar for Android. Windows has the Audio Processing Object (APO) architecture. Android should have something similar in order to change the audio stream. Malheureusement, je ne sais pas comment créer quelque chose de similaire pour Android. • Simply genius. Thanks for your awesome work, Peter! PS: I'd love to see this project on Android too!

Thanks for the nice review. Yes, it would be nice to have on Android. I'm not sure if it's possible though.
  • Absolutely fantastic equalizer that works system wide, eliminating the hassle of messing with media players own equalizers. I created profiles for different headphones and speakers, that's extremely convenient. The interface is very intuitive, with lots of features and customization options, highly recommended. Many thanks to APO and Peace developers.

  • This is a masterful EQ for Windows! The inclusion of a crossfeed filter is sheer brilliance. Music through my headphones without PEACE sounded like the earcups were stuffed with pillows. I would never consider listening to music on PC without PEACE! Thank you, Peter!

  • Yes!! Finally. this was like a dream come true situation. I was looking for years to apply different sound effects to all channels individually. Also impress with all effects and expandable customisations. Thank you for creating this!. I'm grateful to you.

  • Those idiots from ASUS disabled equalizer on Crosshair Hero VII motherboard when using SPDIF . Peace Equalizer gave me back the sound settings I was looking for . My Edifier S 730 speakers never sounded so good . Tons of settings , easy to use .

Great! As SPDIF is just an audio device for Equalizer APO, Peace can be used to equalize the sound and do other audio stuff.
  • A "Must Have" for a PC-based music studio. I can set multiple EQ settings to match end-result user player equipment and have it right every time. This equates to workflow speed and dependable outcomes when doing masters. Be aware: When you update PE, it usually requires re-installing EqualizerAPO. Otherwise our bridge units like USB mixing such as our Focusrite Scarlet 18i-20 don't see it when outputting to studio monitors.

Thanks for your great review and your tip on re-installing Equalizer APO.
  • Hi everybody, during last Christmas holidays I was playing around the internet and came across this APO. I listen to a lot of music when I am have time to, across my wonderful Heco Statement loudspeakers, an old Pioneer VSX AX10 multichannel amp and Pioneer SE-A1000 headphones and pc (VirtualDJ and Foobar2k) to Denon source (quite a good set, I have to say not a bank account breaking expense). But as it often happens your ears ask for improvements from time to time and this APO is the point. Everything sounds better after an accurate equalization, in some case dramatically better, in my 34k songs library, from Mozart to Erikah Badu. Please let me say that I sometime smile when I read of fancy equalization curves that don't take in any account the fisiology of the main components in the music chain : your brain and you ears. So the starting point of any equalization will be the Equal Loudness Contour, as revised in the ISO 226:2003 standard (this is the average and in good health man hearing threshold), and starting from here everyone can adjust to his peculiar hardware and software (yes, brain and ears are hardware and software too). In my experience I applied a -6db gain through the preamp section of the APO and now I can clearly hear down to 26Hz piano string while recognizing Diana Krall voice . The only minus for this APO is that you will hear all notification sounds from your pc as it doesn't support Wasapi and from monday to wednesday this lets me listen to my music while paying attention to my trading platform alarms. I hope my english is still good enough for you to understand and that this review will help many music addicted.

  • Found this one while looking for some front-end and easy to use GUI for Equalizer APO. I was looking for something which has some presets like Dance, Blues, Bass Boost etc. It has many such presets and works well. Thank you for such a great project!

  • It can't be stressed enough: Equalizer APO works system-side, meaning it doesn't only affect your local music or video playing, but also YouTube music video's, SoundCloud music when played straight from your browser, etc. Therefore, it is not 'just another equalizer'. So, kudos to Jonas Thedering for creating it. Peace Equalizer is the ultimate Windows PC interface for Equalizer APO. Is it necessary? Maybe strictly speaking it isn't. But boy, does it clear things up! So, kudos to Peter Verbeek for taking the time to create a little peace to my music listening experience! [Edit:] I just have to mention MusicBee here, which IMHO is by far the best (not open source, but completely free) file and music management application on earth. And although it does have a built-in equalizer as well, with Peace it makes your music collection rock!

Unfortunately I'm not able to create a Peace version for Linux. Windows has given developers the ability to intervene in the audio stream. Linux might not have this ability.
